Elizabethtown, KY - Altec Industries has announced that the company’s Elizabethtown, KY Manufacturing Facility has accumulated 2 million employee hours with no cases of injury or illness that require hours away from work. This achievement occurred between August 2006 and January 2009.
“The work hours we have saved have allowed Altec to reinvest more into research and development, improve work practices, and produce new and better equipment,” said Lee Styslinger, III, President and CEO of Altec. “More importantly, this milestone is significant because it means that Altec associates are working safer and are able to return home safely to their families each night. That’s something you can’t measure or put a price on.”
Altec is the leading manufacturer of aerial lifts, digger derricks, truck mounted cranes and specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, contractor and tree care industries. Altec has manufacturing, sales and service facilities located throughout North America and sells and services equipment in over 100 countries.
2009 marks Altec’s 80th year in business.
