Birmingham, Ala., February 19, 2010 - Altec Environmental Products now offers the exclusive Kubota 48HP diesel engine on three of its chippers.  The Kubota engine is 40 percent more fuel-efficient than the traditional 85HP unit normally offered on chippers.  The Altec line-up features chippers for 6”, 9” and 12” material and includes a self-feed drum, a control-feed disc and a control-feed drum unit.

The DC912A, a 9” capacity control-feed disc chipper, boasts a compact, high-performance design, patented panic bar system and high-capacity (150 fpm) hydraulic feed system.  Altec’s CFD 1217, a 12” capacity control-feed drum, offers the FeedSense® electronic feed control system and a height-adjustable discharge chute with hand-crank 360 degree rotation.  The third chipper in Altec’s fuel-efficient line-up is the WC 126A, a 6” capacity self-feed drum, which features an innovative serrated blade design, no hydraulics and an aggressive 200 fpm feed rate.
